lmichelle asked: Hi! I like your blog, and I too have changed my diet and use clean cosmetics etc. It helps a whole lot. I've been using coconut oil on my skin and see good things but am thinking of trying Tamanu oil. Have you ever heard of this or tried it? If not you should look into it, I am going to try it and see how it goes.

Thanks Michelle! I haven’t heard of Tamanu oil and haven’t seen it in stores either. I wonder if we have it locally :) I’m more inclined to buy local products as they’re easier to find and cheaper too :D but I’d love to hear of your experience when you try it! Where’d you find it? :)

Anonymous asked: Or, boil ginger and oregano leaves simultaneously then squeeze calamansi before drinking it. Also, add more ginger in your tinola, nilaga, sinigang, etc. Or, eat sashimi with lots of ginger as side dish:)

Cool, thank you for the tips! So far my 2-3 teacups of salabat per day is already working well :D sore throat healing quite nicely. Does that ginger+oregano+calamansi concoction actually taste good? Haha!

Anonymous asked: Contractubex is good for the scars.

Thanks! I’ll ask my derma about it :) did a Google and found people giving their feedback and comparing it to “Dermatix” here. Have you tried either gel yourself? What kind of scar did you use it on and how long did it take to see results? :)

thechocolatefiend asked: Well for me... When I'd drink Ginger tea, it was okay for awhile, but if I'd drink too much my throat would feel irritated and it would feel even more swollen. I guess just go easy on the ginger. And I guess if it works for you, e di okay. Salabat works for my mom too :p

I guess dosage is the key :D I can’t drink that much rin (just a teacup at a time, maybe twice or at the most thrice a day) because I’m not a big fan of the taste hehehe :P

thechocolatefiend asked: oh no don't drink salabat! i asked my throat doctor about this one. she said the ginger can irritate the throat and stuff further. just drink hot water (not boiling though). or tea will do. just not ginger. get well soon <3

Really? It’s so weird though! I’ve been researching and different webpages say different things about what’s best for it— hot, cold, dairy, citrus, spicy stuff, etc. Pero I really noticed a significant improvement with the salabat. Last week I was just drinking warm water and using honey throat spray but it just continued getting worse. *confused!*

I do know though that most doctors (my own derma included) have little faith in herbal remedies :P

Anonymous asked: Out of curiosity, how tall are you?

I’m actually not sure! :D I think around 5’3” or 5’4”. Some people say I’m tall but I think I’m just about average, I see lots of people taller than I. :)
