Showing you what Peak 8 Exercise with jump rope looks like! Haha. I look stupid doing jump rope, but it’s lots of fun… especially when you’re jumping rope to Nyan Cat! ^O^

I really love this exercise program because:
1. It only takes 20 minutes. 20 minutes! The whole workout! Just 2-3 times a week.
2. You can do it with almost any activity. As long as you can get your heart rate up really high.

In the video I’ve explained the basics of how and why the Peak 8 Exercise program works, but you should read the articles on Dr. Mercola’s website to get all the complete scientific details. :3

Okay, I’m seriously going to start this peak 8 interval exercise thing regularly. It’s just 20 mins, thrice a week, with any activity— I’ll do mine with jump rope here at home.

I’ve just finished my peak 8 with jump rope— whew! ^_^;;;

Sooooo I was originally gonna do a jump rope for fitness video, but I figured this would be more fun :D and also, rainbow skirt’s awesomeness needs to be shown in all its flouncy glory. Heeee!!! :3

I know I’ve been blogging about dancing for fitness and now it’s time to walk the talk. This is more than a little embarrassing because you see how awkward I dance but, umm, I hope you enjoy anyway because ohmygosh I am! Dancing is so much fun, I hope when you watch this video you will get up off your chair and join me! (Post a video? Haha)

By the way, vintage tunes rock! I thank lightsinorbit on YouTube for introducing me to all these awesome 50s/60s songs. ^__^ In this video I used “Soulful Dress” by Sugar Pie DeSanto (a super awesome half-Filipina half-African American singer btw) and “Buzzsaw Twist” by The Gee Gees.

Happy Easter / Eostre you guys! Thank you for reading my blog and interacting with me and being awesome in general! Keep on being happy, healthy, and kind! ❤★

Finally able to Peak 8 Interval Exercise today and yesterday! :)

Peak 8 Exercise

Half an hour, twice a week, with fat-burning effects for hours post-workout! So apparently this works better than hourlong stretches of regular cardio! ;)

Basically, Peak 8 exercise has 3 minutes of warmup, then 8 sets of this:
- 30 seconds high intensity exercise (“peak”)
- 90 seconds active recovery

Peak 8 can be done with pretty much any kind of exercise, as long as during peak you achieve:
- fast heart rate and high body temperature
- oxygen debt (hard to breathe or talk)
- profuse sweating (should happen by 2nd or 3rd peak)
- lactic acid increase (feel muscle “burn”)

Peak 8 may be classified under “high intensity interval training” (HIIT), wherein short bursts of energy are alternated with active recovery periods.

To learn more, and understand the science behind this strategy, read Dr. Mercola’s article “10 Minutes Of Exercise ” here.

Today I started with just 5 peaks, belly dancing. :)
