Days since last fast food consumption: zero
Hadn’t eaten fast food in a while (maybe a month or so) but there was no food in the house last night and we were desperate and hungry. Tried ordering from Razon’s but they were closed. Resorted to Jollibee. In choosing between Mcdonald’s and Jollibee, I decided, Jollibee at least scores one tiny little point for being local, and their pineapple juice actually tastes okay (whereas Mcdonald’s...

Green living in Metro Manila
I was searching for a directory or knowledge base about organic goods and places in Metro Manila: food, cosmetics, weekend markets, etc. One with information and mapped addresses and comments and ideas and tips. Thinking of maybe starting such a website, if one doesn’t exist yet. But here are some relevant finds: Happy Cow - Manila - Vegan restaurants listing Manila Vegan Army Blog...

Meatless Saturday
Yesterday’s food: Creamy carrot cupcake (no butter or sugar) from Gourmet Gallery, pure raw honey, boiled kamote, frozen yogurt with blueberries and crushed graham, wheat pandesal, muesli with raisins and soy milk. (Still working on reducing my intake of industrial dairy and unfermented soy products, but that’ll do for now.)

BF Palengke and organic market
Checked out the BF palengke and organic market today! Bought fresh buko, pure honey, and organic lip balm. People from the south, y’all should go to these places instead of the supermarket. ;) Planning to source my home food supply at these places from here on. Local, fresh, in-season food.

8 glasses of water a day - true or false?
I’ve just finished my second bottle of water today. I think one bottle gives me around 3 glasses. I plan to finish at least 3 bottles today. It’s harder than I thought! =\ On most days I don’t drink this much at all. Anyway, did some research on the “8 glasses a day” rule and these articles say it’s a silly rule, thirst ought to guide you just fine, and as long...

Redness :c
Experiencing problematic skin on my forehead and nose today and yesterday. Possible causes: Staying up late. Bad diet. (Haven’t really changed what I eat, except for switching to brown rice.) Hormones— approaching my period? Experimental solutions: Normally I’d be reaching for my panoxyl/alcohol/marykay right now. But I’m swearing off those things on my face, so...
